SCULPT Your Way This Summer

apothem labs sculpt body cbd oil high strength

SCULPT CBD Body Oil is the ultimate body care MVP. Bursting with 8000mg of pure CBD plus powerful antioxidant-rich botanicals, this is one of the most potent and effective daily treatments for your body.

The skin is our largest organ so it deserves the best that we can give it. And it doesn’t get much better than this. Topical applications of CBD on the skin impact the local receptors in the muscles and skin surface, which creates anti-inflammatory effects, thought to be beneficial for not only the health and overall appearance of our skin but also in managing pain and tackling skin issues such as psoriasis or eczema.  Combine this with other hugely beneficial botanical extracts that deeply nourish and help regenerate skin cells, and you’ve got a recipe for healthy, glowing skin.

How To Use Body Oil

For a luxurious at-home daily spa experience, you can simply massage SCULPT firmly into skin after bathing. But there’s plenty more ways to get the benefits of SCULPT’s powerful formula:

1. Detoxifying Lymphatic Booster

oil and body brush lymphatic drainage massageThe lymphatic system is like the body’s cleaning service, made up of vessels and organs under the skin that pick-up waste and toxins and prepare them for removal from the body. There is no pump in the lymphatic system (unlike the heart in the cardiovascular system), so sometimes it needs it a little help to keep things moving well throughout the system.

How to apply body oil to promote skin tone.

To promote circulation and stimulate the lymphatic system, pair APOTHEM SCULPT with a ‘dry body brush’ for the ultimate skin and health boosting ritual.

Before showering, brush skin upwards in long, gentle strokes towards the heart. Then after showering, apply SCULPT in slow rhythmic strokes, starting from the feet and working upwards, massaging the skin firmly and intentionally (we love to integrate positive thoughts or gratitude as we move along each body part).

GREEN COFFEE OIL, BIRCH, and GINGER in SCULPT body massage oil work together to help drain toxins and stimulate the lymphatic system to improve the appearance of cellulite and overall skin tone.

According to massage expert Flavia Lanini, “a weekly lymphatic drainage session can strengthen the immune system, help reduce cellulite, and improve your mood”. That’s well worth taking a few minutes out of our day for.

2. Tan Optimiser

healthy summer skin care

There are plenty of reasons to love the sun – serotonin booster, vitamin D provider, sun-kissed glow maker. But looking after the skin’s protective barrier is everything when it comes to sun exposure (different to SPF protection, but equally important).

Before jetting away, upgrading your body skin care routine can make catching an enviable tan much easier and help the skin protect itself from environmental stressors.

Dry skin is more vulnerable to UV rays and sunburn, so by investing in the right skincare products and deeply moisturising and nourishing your skin on the days leading up to sun exposure (body oil is not for use immediately before you hit the beach…that’s the time for your sun protection!), will help to reconstruct its protective layer.

After Sun Skin Care

Hydrating the skin to prep it for a period of sun exposure is super important, but it pays to continue your head-to-toe skincare routine afterwards too – days spent basking in the heat can leave skin feeling dehydrated and looking dull and dry. The best way to hang on to bronzed summer skin for longer is by drenching it in a deeply hydrating product like SCULPT Body Oil. This lux formula is designed to nourish skin and improve skin elasticity and firmness to enhance overall appearance.

If you’ve accidentally overdone it and find yourself with a touch of sunburn, studies have shown that CBD could offer a soothing remedy due to its anti-inflammatory properties which reduce redness and swelling while also speeding up the healing process.

A potent combination of botanicals in SCULPT work in synergy with the extra-high strength CBD to soothe skin irritation and fight off free radical damage. GLASSWORT OIL acts against dryness by penetrating the epidermis with deep moisturisation, while AVENAPLEX is an extremely nourishing oat active that repairs, renews and protects the skin’s lipid barrier – helping to prevent and manage the signs of skin ageing.

Throw in the ancient herb, Centella asiatica - hailed as a hydrating skin-saver - and you’ve got a proven ally to help revitalise skin's protective barrier and mitigate some of the visible effects of sun damage.

3. Anti-Ageing Neck and Décolleté Massage

Neck decollete massage skin

This often-overlooked part of the body is more susceptible to damage as there are fewer oil glands keeping it moisturised. The neck is also home to highly concentrated lymphatic vessels and capillaries that help detox, purify and reduce puffiness.

To care for this sensitive area, warm a few drops of SCULPT in your hands and gently press into the skin on the neck and décolleté. The combination of fatty-acid-rich oils (all non-comedogenic, meaning they won’t clog pores) including HEMP SEED, ROSEHIP, BLACKCURRANT, and GRAPESEED OIL, will nourish skin cells with vitamins to help encourage skin renewal, give the skin a more lifted and toned appearance. and fight signs of ageing.  CBD works with these oils and other active botanicals to promote homeostasis within the skin while decreasing inflammation and muscle tension.

Gentle massage not only relieves tension and boosts circulation, but it will also help your skin to absorb your skin care products even better:
  1. Start with gentle stretches side to side for your neck muscles and compressions over the shoulders and upper arms.
  2. Look up to the ceiling and begin upward strokes with alternating hands from chest to the jawline to help lift skin and relax neck muscles.
  3. Circle across the décolleté with your fingertips, starting at the sternum and working towards the shoulders. When you reach the shoulders, start again at the centre. Repeat several times
  4. Place your hands behind your ears and massage lightly straight down the neck with little strokes from the base of the ear down to the base of the neck.
  5. Finish with a few sweeps along the collarbone from one shoulder to the other and some gentle taps across the surface of the skin.

Light pressure (not too aggressive) is enough to encourage lymphatic drainage, soften tension, and lift and tone the skin. This can be built into your morning or night-time routine, but for an extra boost we love to do it before bed with a few calming drops of LIGHTS OUT under the tongue. This helps us relax and release neck muscle tension that’s built up throughout the day and also make the most of our skin’s regeneration process while we sleep.

How CBD skin care works

CBD is a potent ingredient for skin cell repair and moisturisation. Our skin's complex ecosystem is, in part, modulated by the endocannabinoid system, a vast regulatory network that responds to cannabinoids, like CBD. With cannabinoid receptors spread throughout our skin, topical CBD skin care holds the potential to offer a wide range of benefits, from skin health and appearance to pain management.
